Scientists in Japan are planning to clone a mammoth and place it in an Ice Age Wildlife Park in Siberia. They have extracted DNA from a mammoth that was preserved in the arctic permafrost and are planning on impregnating an Indian elephant, the mammoth's closest relative, and then repeating that process over the next fifty years. If successful this will yield an animal that is 88% mammoth.
